Jeannie Senter

She/Her Pronouns

Jeannie Senter, MS, PT has been with the Georgia Safe Schools coalition since its inception in 2009. As a former Health and Physical Education Teacher in a NYC high school, and as a Physical Therapist who worked with special needs students K-12 for 20 years, she has seen bullying in many forms, by both fellow students and faculty, against students who were perceived as different. She also volunteered for many years with Adaptive Sports and the Paralympic movement, starting in its infancy in the 60’s. In 2016, she was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Adaptive Sports USA.

As a GSSC board member, Jeannie handles many administrative duties, including all the incoming ‘contact us’ requests. She works with parents one on one to support them and their youth with school related issues. She also has a background in public speaking, and has done trainings for GSSC.

Jeannie is a trained facilitator with PFLAG Johns Creek, (one of GSSC’s Summit partners), facilitating both adult and youth groups. For many years she was the Safe Schools Coordinator and facilitator for another local PFLAG group.

Fun fact - years ago Jeannie performed with a Clogging group in Alabama - short frilly skirt and all.
